Weddings at Grace

Couples who desire to be married at Grace United Methodist, or by one of our pastors, will receive pre-marital counseling, use of our facilities, and access to our staff wedding coordinator and musicians.

Weddings are a celebration of your commitment of love and partnership before God, friends, and family. Over the years we have been blessed as a faith community to take part in many wedding celebrations. Due to the significant demand for our wedding services and the time and energy invested in each wedding, we are currently able to book weddings for Grace United Methodist Church members only.

If you are interested in booking your wedding at Grace UMC, please download and read over our Wedding Handbook prior to booking, as this will answer many frequently asked questions and give you an idea of the expectations and rules for weddings.

To confirm the availability of the church & a pastor for a wedding, contact Walt Cooper, Director of Facilities, at [email protected] or call our church office at (913) 859-0111.

Wedding FAQ

Do you perform weddings for non-members?

Due to limited availability of our facilities and our pastoral staff’s time, we are only able to perform weddings for members of Grace United Methodist Church.

Are we required to attend pre-marital counseling?

Yes.  Couples wishing to be married by one of our pastors must attend at least two pre-marital counseling sessions with the officiating pastor.

What dates and times are available to schedule weddings?

Once we are certain the date you requested is available, we have the following general time guidelines:

  • Friday Weddings: 6:00 PM
  • Saturday Weddings: 2:00 PM – nothing past 3:30 PM
  • No Sunday Weddings or Holidays – See handbook for list of holidays

A pastor may be available to perform a wedding at an alternate location, outside of these days and times.

Is church available for wedding receptions, parties, showers?

We offer several different gathering rooms, depending on the number of guests you are expecting. There are additional fees associated with the use of reception space (visit with our Facilities Director about fee structure for these rooms). Please note that no alcohol is allowed on church property.

What are the fees?

Please see the Wedding Handbook for a full breakdown of our fee structure and services available.
