This Weekend in Worship, 3/7-9
Dear Grace Family,
It is a big weekend at the church. Tonight is Grace Extravaganza, the biggest party of the year at the church. We hope to raise close to $100,000 toward the missions we support. If you did not buy tickets, it is not too late. You can still get them at the door. I have perused the items for sale and as always, it is a great selection. I hope to see you there.
Sunday is the beginning of our Lenten sermon series call “Hallowed.” We are going to take a deep dive into the Lord’s prayer at both traditional worship and at Common Grace. The Lord’s prayer may be the most familiar prayer in the world. Most of us can recite it without even thinking about the words. However, when we do think deeply about the words, we realize that they have great power in shaping how we live. During the season of Lent, I challenge you to say the Lord’s Prayer once a day. If you pray it each day, I promise it will have an impact on your life and your Discipleship.
One more reason this is a big weekend. On Saturday night we all lose an hour of sleep as we “Spring Forward.” We could argue all day about the benefits or detriments of Daylight Saving Time, but for now it is the reality of the world we live in. At least it won’t be dark at dinner time anymore.
See you in worship!
Barry
