This Weekend in Worship 11/11
Dear Grace Family,
When I was appointed to Grace, I noticed the phrase “Loving God, Living Like Jesus, Serving the World” on much of the information about the church. I don’t know the history of the phrase, but it is a pretty good mission statement. It captures the essence of what I believe the church should be. Over the next three weeks, we are going to explore our mission statement in traditional worship. Our goal is to ask the questions, why is this statement important and how do we live it out?
In Common Grace, Pastor Mitch is continuing his worship series called “John Wesley’s Greatest Hits.” Last week was Wesley’s hit song, “The World is My Parish.” This week it is all about the types of grace in Wesley’s hit, “The Christian Life.” Come see hear what rhymes with Sanctification!
We have continued to make progress on our church stewardship campaign. We have received an additional 35 cards this week. We have now received 220 commitments for a total of $900,940. Those numbers are very encouraging at this point in the process. In 2023 we received 249 commitments for $957,279. If you have not turned in your “Intent to Give” Card for 2024, you can do so online at this link. We will also have cards available in worship.
Thank you for being a church that “Loves God, Lives Like Jesus, and Serves the World.” It is a tremendous joy to serve as your pastor.
See you in worship,
Barry
