This Weekend in 5/11 Worship

Dear Grace Family,

I have important information to share about worship at Grace this summer. Beginning June 1, we will have a new schedule that will run through the end of August. We are bringing back the 8:00 AM outdoor worship, but we will not have 10:30 AM traditional worship in the Celebration Center. Here is what the schedule will look like in June, July and August.

  • 800 AM – Early worship in the Outdoor Chapel
  • 9:00 AM – Traditional worship in the Celebration Center
  • 10:15 AM – Modern worship in Grace Gathering

There are many reasons we have made the decision to change the schedule for the summer. We had a wonderful response to the early outdoor worship last summer. Many of our members love getting up early and enjoy the experience of communing with God outside in our chapel. We decided to expand the outdoor option to thirteen weeks this coming summer.

Last Fall we moved our late traditional worship to 10:30 AM so the choir could sing at both traditional services. The choir has been a fantastic addition to our smaller worship experience, but the full choir does not sing during the summer, and we want to give our singers a break from singing twice every Sunday. Another factor is Pastor Wes’s appointment to Heritage UMC. With two full time pastors instead of three, we need a schedule where one pastor could lead all the services on a Sunday morning. That cannot happen when two services run simultaneously. Most Sundays, both Pastor Mitch and I will lead worship, but we need to plan for the occasional Sundays when one of us is gone.

We understand that these changes may disrupt your Sunday morning schedule. We did not make these changes without contemplating how it could impact everyone who worships at Grace each Sunday. We concluded that this was the best option for June through August. Thank you in advance for being open to these changes.

See you in worship!

Barry
