This Week in 8/4 Worship

Dear Grace Family,

On Monday I took both of my adult children and my three-year-old granddaughter to Chief’s training camp. It was hot, and I wasn’t even running around in a football helmet. It was also fun to see the players and remember when I played football in high school. Football practice always marked the change in season and the beginning of a new school year. It seems ironic to write this on the hottest week of the year, but Autumn is coming, and football season is right around the corner.

This Sunday, we are kicking off a new sermon series to carry us into the Fall called “Homecoming: When Faith Takes the Field.” It will conclude on September 8 with one big worship service at 10:30 AM followed by an All-Church celebration and lunch which will include activities for the entire family. Each week we will lift up an important ministry of the church and use a sports analogy to share why it is essential to the life of the church. Week one is called “The Open House Huddle.” Come learn what football has to do with hospitality.

Every year, schools all over our country hold a homecoming weekend during football season. It is a time for people to return to campus and re-connect with their schools. We are ready for a homecoming at Grace. If you haven’t been to church recently or if you have been traveling this summer, now is the time to come home. Grace is a church where “Real Life Meets Real Love” every single week and we have a place for you.

See you in worship!

Barry
