This Week in 5/25 Worship
Dear Grace Family,
In my family, Memorial Day weekend is the official transition into summer. We don’t have any specific traditions, but mentally we know when Memorial Day comes, summer is here. It is also a transition time at the church. School may be out, but summer becomes a busy time for our children and youth activities. This year it also means a transition in our worship schedule. I am so excited to bring back our 8:00 AM outdoor worship beginning June 1. The first two months, we will have a series called “Here I Am, Lord.” I have asked nine different pastors who are connected to our congregation to talk about their call to ministry. Every one of them has a unique story to tell. The summer schedule also means that we will not have worship at 10:30 AM beginning June 1. If that is your current worship time, I encourage you to join us at 9:00 AM in the Celebration Center or to try Common Grace at 10:15 AM. Of course you can always come worship outside at 8:00 AM.
This Sunday we will continue our worship series on the “Seven Next Words” as we dig into “The Great Commission” found at the end of Matthew’s Gospel. As part of our worship, we will share a video report of our latest mission trip to Tochimizolco. If you have ever wondered what our mission teams do in Mexico, you will get to experience the trip like you have never seen it before. I am so proud to be part of a church that takes seriously our call to “Go into all the world.” Grace has a long history of going out into the world and sharing the gospel through service and love. But why wouldn’t we? We stand in the tradition of John Wesley who famously said, “The world is my parish!”
See you in worship!
Barry
