This Week in 10/20 Worship
Dear Grace Family,
Mitch and I are at a seminar today in beautiful Denver, Colorado. We are excited to hear some of our favorite presenters and we hope to return both inspired and with some exciting ideas for Grace UMC. Even though we are out of town, I have some important things to share with our church family.
First, I want to celebrate the response we made to hurricane relief through UMCOR. We raised over $7500 through donations to the church which does not include any direct donations made online to UMCOR. One of our members, Mike Chamberlain, joined our Conference Disaster Relief Team and headed to South Carolina to help with the clean-up efforts. Great job church!
Trunk or Treat is coming quickly, and we still need your help. We are offering a safe Trunk or Treat Event at the Center of Grace on October 30th. There are still about eight slots available for families or groups to decorate a trunk and hand out candy. We are also collecting extra candy at the church, so we don’t run out. If you are able to decorate a trunk, please email Pastor Mitch at . You can drop off candy at the church any time between now and October 30.
Finally, Commitment Sunday is October 27 at all three worship services. You are invited to return your commitment card that morning as part of worship. If you are not going to be present that Sunday, you can mail your card or fill it out online here. The children will collect their noisy offering that Sunday, so bring all of your loose change with you. This year they are supporting the Holiday Hero program through KVC Kansas. The funds will help provide holiday gifts to their teenage clients in foster care, adoption and psychiatric programs. These young people often receive fewer gifts during the holiday season.
This Sunday our focus is on the third ship – StewardSHIP. It will be a great Sunday to worship with your church family either in person or online.
See you in worship!
Barry
