This Sunday in Feb 23 Worship

Dear Grace Family,

This Sunday is the final sermon in our worship series, “Gandhi’s Seven Deadly Social Sins.” Honestly, this has been a challenging series for your pastors. We know that each week we have the potential to make someone upset either by something we do say or something we don’t say. That is especially true this Sunday when we address the last “Social Sin” on the list, Politics Without Principle. Everyone knows that if you want to start an argument, bring up politics or religion. Only the truly brave (or not so bright) bring them up together by preaching about politics in church.

The truth is our faith should inform our politics. Our faith should inform everything we do, especially how we live together in community. Gandhi was a man of deep faith, and he was also a political force. One could argue that his faith lived out in his politics had a greater impact on India than any other individual in history. I believe the secret to his success was found in his commitment to the principles of his faith, principles that were shaped by his reading of the Sermon on the Mount.

Join us this Sunday either in person or online as we conclude our sermon series. In the afternoon you can return to the church at 3:00 PM to hear the Olathe Community Orchestra and their featured guest soloist, Zaheer Popo. The concert is free and includes a reception at intermission.

See you in worship!
