This Sunday in 6/22 Worship

Dear Grace Family,

It is the middle of June, summer is starting to heat up, and most folks would think very little is happening at the church. However, we have an absolutely full Sunday planned this weekend. It begins with Brett Eisenhauer speaking at our 8:00 AM outdoor worship. Brett works for the Good Faith Network as a Community Organizer but has her MDiv from Union Presbyterian Seminary. At the 9:00 AM traditional worship we are welcoming new members and commissioning our youth mission teams. I am warning you now that I will invite you to come forward and lay hands on our youth as we pray for them. It is a powerful experience to have someone pray for you as you go out to serve. Pastor Mitch is starting a new sermon series at 10:15 Common Grace this week on the Life of David. Over the next six weeks, you can learn the story of Israel’s greatest king. If that were not enough, we are hosting a blood drive all morning. I have my appointment, but it is not too late to sign up or simply walk in that day to give. Finally, our 5th and 6th graders have been serving all week around the metro area. I was able to join them for a short time on Wednesday and all I can say is “Wow!” We have great young people in our church, and they are learning that one is never too young (or old) to make a difference. We also have wonderful church sponsors who spent the week loving our children. On Sunday we will show a video in worship so you can get a taste of the S.O.S. camp (Serving Our Savior).

It may be summer, but there are plenty of reasons to be in church this Sunday!

See you in worship!
Barry
