This Sunday, 1/12, in Worship

Dear Grace Family,

It feels like it has been a long time since I have been able to worship with you. That is not just a feeling, it has been a reality. The last time I was in worship at Grace was Christmas Eve when more than 1200 attended one of our five worship services. The week after Christmas Mitch led worship and last Sunday the weather decided to make it impossible to gather in person. It will be good to be back in the Celebration Center this coming Sunday.

I am very excited to start our next sermon series. Mahatma Gandhi was an amazing individual and one of my personal heroes. His impact on India and their Independence from Britian was an amazing accomplishment and his commitment to non-violence inspired leaders like Martin Luther King, Jr., the Dalai Lama and Nelson Mandela. His list of Seven Deadly Social Sins is as relevant today as they were in his time.

This Sunday we will hold our Annual Church Conference at 3:00 in the afternoon in Grace Gathering. The Church Conference is our annual event to hear reports and approve the 2025 budget. Our new District Superintendent, Reverand Jin Cho, will chair the Conference. Every member of Grace UMC has voice and vote. We appreciate the Chief’s earning a first-round bye in the playoffs to avoid a conflict of interest with the church event.

I am looking forward to seeing you this Sunday. If you can’t make it to the church, please join us online.
See you in worship!

Barry
