Give to Project 1020

You can support our Christmas mission at Grace – Project 1020.

Project 1020 is the only cold-weather shelter in Johnson County for adults who are experiencing homelessness. They provide transportation to and from the shelter, a hot evening meal, showers and a grab-and-go breakfast every morning. It is a safe place to sleep and receive care. What better way to make room for Jesus than by providing a place for someone to lay their head at night.

There are two ways you can support Project 1020. The first is to make a financial donation to the shelter through Grace. We will have certificates available every Sunday that say a donation was made in your name to Project 1020. It is a wonderful Christmas gift, and you can take as many certificates as you choose when you make your financial gift. The second way to give is by donating items that the shelter always needs. Here is a list of in-demand items.

  • Disposable razors and travel size cans of shaving cream
  • Full size bath towels and washcloths (may be used if in good shape)
  • Toothbrushes, toothpaste, travel size mouthwash
  • All sizes new men’s and women’s underwear
  • New L/XL/XXL women’s sports bras
  • All sizes of Depends
  • All sizes new rubber shower shoes
  • Donate $ via PushPay (for “Fund” select Project 1020)

We will be highlighting Project 1020 during worship throughout Advent, but our big night will be on Christmas Eve. I can’t think of a better way to honor the birth of Christ than to give our offering away. Our Christmas Eve offering this year will be for Project 1020. Come ready to sing carols, hear the Christmas story, light candles, receive communion and to give your gift so others might have a place to lay their head.

See you in worship,
Barry
