A Message from Pastor Wes

Greetings Grace UMC,

This past Sunday I announced that the Bishop of the Great Plains Annual Conference, in consultation with the Appointive Cabinet, is appointing me to serve as the pastor of Heritage UMC in Overland Park, Kansas. I am incredibly excited to begin this next chapter of my life and ministry. Yet, this change is bittersweet. Serving with you has been an incredible blessing of my life. The love and support you have shown and the relationships we have built in worship, Bible study, and service will never be forgotten.

Over these next several weeks, we will have plenty of opportunities to say goodbye and ensure a smooth transition. However, let me say now that I cannot fully express how grateful I am to have served with you at Grace UMC. These past three years have been a source of joy, fun, growth and learning for me, and I will take those memories and lessons with me as I take the next step in my ministry.

While pastoral change is always stressful and often difficult, I trust that God will continue to guide Grace into the future. It is my sincere prayer that the ministry here will continue to grow in the ways we show Grace to the world around us.

As we make this transition over the coming weeks, I ask for your prayers. Not solely for myself, but for the Grace, and Heritage congregations. That we would experience and know God’s presence among us, guiding us into a new, unknown, unwritten future.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Wes
