Ice Cream Social at Old Settler’s Day
Ice cream was enjoyed by everyone at Johnson County Old Settlers Day on September 9. Through sales of donated of baked goods and homemade ice cream, we were able to raise $700 for the Center of Grace! This money will be used to make improvements on the playground fence. Preschoolers at the Center enjoy the playground on weekday mornings while their parents are learning English with the JCCC Migrant Family Literacy Program. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a success!
Yes I Can!
Are you looking for a way to meet more people? Interested in getting more involved but not sure where to start? Stop by and look at the opportunities to serve posted in the main floor hallway next to the nursery. There are one-time, once-a-month and ongoing ways to share your time and talents. You can also check out the opportunities available at graceumc.church/about/volunteer-opportunities. Say “yes” to the way God is calling you to serve!
Coupe de Grass Returns to Grace
“The Cadillac of Bluegrass Music” returns to Grace during the 9:15 and 10:45 services on October 29. These excellent local musicians will perform some of their own selections, accompany the Celebration Choir, and accompany festive congregational singing of favorite hymns. We look forward to welcoming them back to worship, and we hope to see you there!
Stewardship Campaign: Generosity in Grace
As church members, we so rarely want to talk about money. But the importance of supporting the church we love financially cannot be understated. Our annual pledge drive helps us plan for the coming budget year so we can provide all the programs that make up Grace UMC. Please be prayerfully considering what you might give this year, and look for a letter in your mail or email box from Pastor Nanette about this important aspect of congregational life.
